For those who intend on buying it.....

When you log in it'll ask you for your Gamespy account. This is your BF2 account. It doesn't tie the game as such to one nick but if you have several people using the same PC, all with different BF2 logins, then they'll have to make a small modification in Gamespy each time you switch user.

Remember, you log into EA.com with an EA account (not BF2) and you ues your BF2 (gamespy) account to buy the game.

16 man server is running new EF maps for those purchasing. Greatwall 16 will be a classic I think.

Right , I have an EA a/c , and I log in with this , is it after I have made the purchase that use my BF2 (gamespy) a/c because I am at the purchase details page and it is not asking for a BF" a/c .

I have the same problem jonski i can post here at work but not go on irc, go figure!! Also some detailed instructions would be good as i intend to download it tonight but i'm afraid i'll feck it up

Same here as it won't be my CC , plus I don't want to end up with it registered to a different nick to the one I normally use

also as a side note : from one of the moderators on the EA forums

If you have purchased the Euro Forces expansion via Downloader please be aware that the game is not scheduled to go live until Wednesday morning (9am GMT).

While you may be able to purchase the booster ahead of this release time, it will not function as intended until the release time and date.

There's no worries as you can't associate the game to only one nick.

jonski, at the purchase details page it asks you to enter your BF2 nick.

So how does one assign it to a new nic, i assigned my original big eejit that i am, can play it on that but not on my current one.

Just tought of this one, if it is tied to account, lan play will not be possible which is b*ll*x.

As far as i can make out about changing the nick used you use the account edit page on your EA User account(website), nothing to do with the ingame account! Hope this helps.

Open the EA Downloader, click on EF in the list of items and you should see 'gamespy nick' settings by the 'Play Now' button.

No, the 1.20/1.21 patch already includes half the EF content, like weapons and voices anyway.

Yep, the download only contains the maps. The 1.2 patch modified BF2 to get it ready for EF by adding the sounds and such.

Also you can only change the nick associated with EF no more than 3 times per week.

FFS i have paid for it but when i try login to ea downloader its says wrong name and or password.

Nice game, operation smokescreen, loads and loads of tank, at least 6 per side. Went to the TiG it was dead, theres a few german servers going around.

It was working for me this afternoon, Great Wall is good crack alright, but the Euro army voices are a bit, odd. Kinda like the may the MEC commander voice sounds way too camp... I can't quite put my finger on it, but they just don't sound right...

Also, is it just me, or does anyone else feel like a bit of a sap for paying €9.99 for this, on top of €50 odd for the original game, plus €29.99 for Special Forces (which I freely admit I only bought for the unlocks), plus another €9.99 for the next patch (Sorry, 'booster pack).
