saw this on boing boing though it was too good not to post on...

A Canadian MP who is accused of being in bed with entertainment companies published an editorial defending herself in yesterday's Toronto star, large passages of which were lifted almost verbatim from publications and speeches given by the Canadian Recording Industry Association.

The recording cartel$ did not need to do that, their representatives helped draft the current law.

An enormous amount of work has been done by the parliamentary draftsmen, the officials, the Minister of State, IMRO, Mr. Dick Doyle and others who are experts in the field of copyright.
