I think ive had about 3 litres or so since monday, but reading this thread has made me want to go for some (there was none in the house until today. so ill have over 4 drank by the end of the week.)

Anyone think that coke from the small "fun size" cans is the nicest?

I became addicted to Coca Cola in August 1986 while on a 3 week school trip to Italy.

    I was drinking an average of 10 / 12 supercans a day.

My skin was in sh*t by the time I got back to Ireland.

Nowadays I limit my Coca Cola intake to one 330ml can on a Friday lunchtime (as a treat).

Maybe you should switch to Sierra Springs water Adrian Monk

I'm sure that's funny, but I'm too young/Stupid/tired to get it. Speaking of funny, I was watching Dave Allen on BBC 2 around Midnight last night, recording from 1971, man I LOL'd.

Myth Busters did an episode with Coke and it didn't do anything good to meat soaked in it for two days, but it was still most definitely present at the end of the experiment. It was gross! They also wiped out a few of the other myths re: Coke as well.

I'm a coffee with soya milk girl myself. Oh and Deep Riverrock water. I hate Volvic!

"A small percentage of the population may experience withdrawal symptoms following sudden cessation of caffeine consumption, while gradual cessation over 2-3 days has not been shown to result in such symptoms. The most commonly reported symptoms are headache, weakness and drowsiness, impaired concentration, fatigue and work difficulty, depression, anxiety, and irrritability. Withdrawal symptoms generally begin ~12-24 h after sudden cessation of caffeine consumption and reach a peak after 20-48 h. They do not seem to be related to the quantity of caffeine ingested daily"

I'm allergic to caffine - wasn't always, about 13 years ago something broke and I started to feel really sick etc. Finally discovered it was caffine so coke and all its caffine fueled siblings had to go, and indeed 3 days of pretty nasty headaches ensued.

I wonder when the help-eu crowd will start their life without caffine adverts :)

Used to drink at least 500ml of fizzy drinks every day, especially Coke.
Can't stand the stuff any more now, fizzy drinks just dry out your mouth and leave an awful taste. Me happily drinks aqua now. :)

here are some facts about coke, I'm not sure about the first 2 or the second part of number 8 but the rest are true.

    1. In many states (in the USA) the highway patrol carries two gallons of Coke in the truck to remove blood from the highway after a car accident.

    2. You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of coke and it will be gone in two days.

    3. To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coke into the toilet bowl and let it sit for one hour, then flush clean. The citric acid in Coke removes stains from vitreous China.

    4. To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers: Rub the bumper with a rumpled-up piece of aluminium foil dipped in Coke.

    5. To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour a can of Coke over the terminals to bubble away the corrosion.

    6. To loosen a rusted bolt: Apply a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola to the rusted bolt for several minutes.

    7. To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of coke into a load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run through a regular cycle. The Coke will help loosen grease stains. It will also clean road haze from your windshield.

    8. The active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid. Its pH is 2.8. It will dissolve a nail in about 4 days. Phosphoric acid also leaches calcium from bones and is a major contributor to the rising increase in osteoporosis.

    9. To carry Coke syrup (the concentrate) the commercial truck must use the hazardous material place cards reserved for highly corrosive materials.

    10. The distributors of Coke have been using it to clean the engines of their trucks for about 20 years!

    Ahem.

Is it just me or was there a type of Coke called "Caffine Free Diet Coke"?

I seem to remember a brand of Coke with a very long name - for some reason "Caffine Free Diet Coke" sticks in my mind.

Caffeine Free Coke did exist, was in gold-labelled bottles, and was quite simply manky.

It actually tastes nicer, I can't explain it. I heard it's brewed (if thats the word) in the Polish Coke factory and its water filtration plant is one of the best in the world. It probably has alot to do with it.

If I see it in a shop in Dublin I'll post the location here.

Caffeine-free Diet Coke is blasphemy in a bottle. The point of drinking Coke is the caffeine...
Me... I haven't had any Coke today. I'm dying for some... but the broken tooth I've had for 2 years finally fell out last night and I'm convinced it's gonna hurt if I drink anything more than water... and the caffeine headache is about an hour away.

Blasphemy indeed. I'm on my second 500ml bottle of regular coke, stressful day.

I personally prefere Coke out of a can. The metal taste seeps into the coke as far as I'm concerned, might be my imagination. but I prefere it to bottles.

Coke is addicitive. Diet Coke more so (imho).

When I moved to the US I drank Diet coke like water and basically what piled on the weight. 2 years back I bit the bullet and quit it. Moved over to fizzy water.

It was horrible. I had insane cravings for it. So much so I had to have the stuff removed from the house until I was over it. I suffered from headaches, I was knackered half the time and it was like smoking, you got urges to open up a bottle again. After 2-3 months of this the craving went away. Since a few months back I have now moved off the fizzy water (to normal water). Slight cravings there too (the fizzy bubbles I reckon) but not to the extent of the diet coke.

I now drink 2 litres of water a day. I still drink alcohol from time to time, but I actually feel a lot better for it.

    everything in moderation dude,
for every glass of coke you drink, drink a glass of water, eat three apples, 14 different coloured vitamin pills, eat 2lbs of liver, 6 bowls of brussel sprouts, run a lap of an american football pitch followed by internal irrogation and spending 1/2 an hour brushing your teeth!
once you start this regime you wont be able to stop!

Better get going then lol. Any other "heavy users" notice dental problems despite brushing 2/3 times a day?
