Just wondering is there anything simple i may be overlooking. i have set the port forwarding in the zyxel 600 series on both 6531 + 6532 the ports used by pcanywhere, any help greatly appreciated

    Hey Thumper,

You also have to set it up in the NAT (Network Adress Translation) as well as the firewall.

If your stuck let me know.

sorry should have clarified that i set the nat port forwarding on the router and in the windows firewall as exceptions under pcanywhere, attached is the port forwarding on the zyxel

    Thanks in advance

Well Thumper, your NAT rules are correct. Turn on the logging feature of Zyxel and see if the IP address your trying to come in on is being blocked or forwarded. This will tell you if its the router or the PC.

    hOPE THAT HELPS.

working now seems to be a conflict with trying to dial through a remote gateway from inside the network, works fine externally

Just a thought here but do you need to have a static IP address which you won't have gotten from EsatBT?

they supply the BB router with a static address, although im not sure if it runs on a 3 day lease like regular dhcp but i never have it turned off so hopefully the ip address will always stay the same, if not there are solutions for registering a dynamic address
