I know this probably not right forum for this, but I can't find one for health, closest is Fitness??

Anyway, a friend of mine has a bad head cold and is sick (pardon the pun) of taking Lemsip.

Does anyone know of any herbs or shops that sell these remedies, that could assist him.

I would not mind knowing of some of these myself, should I fall prey to a crappy cold soon.

    Thanks in advance.

    Kev.

the old rememdy my ma used to use still works....fresh lemon juice (half a lemon fully squeezed), 2 large tablespoons of honey, couple of cloves, add boiling water stir well and drink as hot as you can...

It's not herbal but, a hot whiskey with lemon and cloves always works for me. Uniflu+ is good too, why does it have to be herbal?

Steaming (get a sink or big bowl full of boiling water, put your head over it, put a towel over your head so no steam escapes, breathe, remain there for 15mins) with or without a few drops eucalyptus oil in the water(it's an essential oil, a lot of places sell them) is quite effective.

It is for a work colleague from Poland. He said that if he were home, he would know what to take, but here, he is lost.

I think he wants something that he could put in a large bowl of boiling water, and covering his head with a towel, place his head over the bowl and inhale. To clear the phlegm from top of the nose area.

Thanks for the VERY quick replies.

Then my last post will work - eucalyptus oil.

Many products such as vicks or whatever use some dose of it, but you can buy the actual essential oil itself and that'll work.
