Depends on how much you wanna spend. Theres a good set of poker chips for €11 in Ken Blacks/Smiths toystore, dunno if that is great value though.

full house poker would probably be your best bet in Ireland alright

Don't know of anyone else who'll do what you seem to be asking for in fairness.

I think you might be looking for a custom chip maker as apposed to a third party retailer. But I could be wrong. Good chips at value in bulk are hard to comeby in Ireland and I would advise you to go outside if buying in bulk. Particularly for custom or branded. When over at ICE this week I came accross a company called "Triangle" they do chips poker sets and accessories and source from the east. They are based out of Leeds 0044(0)1132456581.
    You could try them

    Doc

Was on honeymoon since Christmas (delayed from June cos herself couldn't get the time off to see rugby in NZ!)
Went south pacific & NZ - Highly recommen Cook Islands for real easy going getaway.

On poker, new products will come on stream May or thereabouts. - Some nice new chips out there. & 3 new KEM wide cards from end Feb.

A point on gaming machines for all -

Was at ICE last week. They estimate that playing a poker or other machine at €1 per spin it takes the average machine 40 minutes to take €100 off the player. A "major" win - one that is of €200 or more will appear once every 6-7 hours continuous play.

Regarding 87% - 90% payouts - The majority of the payouts are in very small amounts thus you will play off these wins. Average punter will only withdraw a win of €200 or more.

Anyone want to open a gaming arcade?????????????

    A point on Poker -

Most casinos do not make money on Poker rooms - they hope you will spand on other table games / gaming machines.

    mcCaul top post.

    very interesting info about machines.

unfortunately for those who post here (including myself) we believe that, in live poker, the human/ psychological aspect of the game can be beaten to make a monetary profit. And its true, providing the limits one plays at are reasonable to one's bankroll. The reason its unfortunate is not that one can make make a living at it but rather because one sacrifices so much for that profit.

If u are a sentimental melancholy Irishman than no matter how far ahead u are you are always aware that u are simply just taking. For most this concern that one is wasting one's life only arises late at night or when drunk.

so why continue? to be a hypocrite?

no. to accept that it is just a game. to give it as little time from ur life as possible, personally about 15%.

so in other words, whether u win 100% of the time or lose 100% of the time whats important is that u give it only a very limited amount of ur time.

roughly, baby, 12% to 15% per week.

trust ur uncle dessie, put your energy and intellect into other subjects.

    coz its only a game.

    Hi Doc,

Late night melancholy sessions, eh? Sunday nights in particular?

I'm a little unsure about the "take take take" nature of poker playing myself, but I do think that you're (implicitly) overrating the jobs that a lot of people do for a living.

On a side note, 12% - 15% works out at 20 - 25 hours a week. This is pretty good if you're making a living out of it, pretty bad if you're working a full time job along side it. If you're making a living out of it, do you think you're giving up more to poker than you would to a full time job?

You seem to think you are sacrificing a lot. What exactly are you sacrificing? If you're playing poker >40 hours and week, then you're either playing more than you have to (financially), or you'd be better off with a full time job (I'm making some assumptions here).

    Zab.

PS: I realize this is a blatant thread hi-jack!

    ur absolutely right.

    just sentimental nonsense..

tx for the rational response, ignore my stuff after 10pm.

watching gholi win a stack on ppp.

giving poker more than a simplistic nod is a mistake for a developed mind. i noticed it tonight, (by it i mean the obsessive over-examination) playing (and losing in) chess against a brilliant mathematician.

    anyway, best wishes.

sorry mccaul, didnt mean to get so tedious!

hope u had a delicious honeymoon.
