Vodafone UK PAYG SIM

I have a Vodafone UK PAYG SIM which I used just over a year ago. trying it now, it doesn't link to the Vodafone Ireland network. Should I throw it in the bin or does anyone know if I can just buy credit to reactivate it?

1. It may not be roaming enabled - so you could not use it in Ire - you need to call VF UK care and get it enabled
2. If it has not been used in a while - it may be deactivated off the UK system

Why not buy a SIM pack from one of the irish operators and use it - cheaper than calling the UK
