I was a huge Zelda fan going right back and Zelda style games such as Battle of Olympus on the Nes(what a fcukin game that was). Greta memories of Zelda on the Gameboy, Snes, N64 and so on. I'm now a bit of an Xbox fanboy(and have been for quite a while) and would lovoe to get my mits on a similar style game for the xbox.

    Recommendations?

Beyond Good and Evil would probably be to your tastes, as would the Prince of Persia games. If you've got an Xbox 360, then Kameo.

    Kameo is your best bet.

Zelda? Kinda a game never really equalled elsewhere.
You could get your machine chipped, then get the Nes, Snes and N64 emulators installed, dump backups the various incarnations of the Zelda series onto the harddrive and off you jolly well go, or at least i heard that was done somewhere once, by someone who definitely wasn't me.

Otherwise the following should float your boat,
    Fable,
    Sudeki,
    Galleon,
Star Wars, Knights Of The Old Republic I/II
Crimson Skies (not strictly an RPG, but has those elements in there somewhere)
    BG&E,
Thief 3. really good stealth game with beautiful graphics and atmosphere.
Elder Scrolls: Morrowind, perhaps the best bet overall, huge game world, plenty of subquests and lasts longer than the wet afternoon it takes to finish Fable.

I second Sphinx. Slightly more child-orientated, but very similar style to Ocarina etc.

Kameo is Zeldaish, but very short

I just finished Jade Empire and its quite a good one too.

Beyond Good & Evil is probably the best bet though, it's probably as close to Zelda gameplay wise than any other game on the xbox, and in my opinion its much better than Zelda too.

You can probably pick up a Gamecube with Zelda: Wind Waker and Four Swords for as much as a new xbox game. And then there is Twilight princess in the pipeline.
