When I seen them years ago I did think they were good live. I'm sure they still do put on a good live show but they're still not PUNK and they certainly didn't "Reclaim PUNKS original ambition".

I've seen them 6 times live in the last few years and, apart from the Ambassador gig where they played a few old songs, the whole show has changed very little. They've got the whole "if it ain't broken don't fix it" attitude going on, and it's getting tedious.

I liked them before AI, now they annoy me. They're taking the piss with the video for Jesus of Suburbia, and I was on their site the other day, and their fan club is $20 a year to join, but I do think they genuinely (I've seen so many variations on the spelling of this word today, I don't know what's right anymore. That and 'commercialism') have a political opinion they wanted to get across. They're musicians, they're going to make an album, right? Then, they saw how much of a money spinner it was, and decicded to milk it for all it's worth.

I wouldn't mind them so much if it weren't the following that goes with them. I know, it's a pretty crappy reason to go off a band, but I can't stand talking to people who claim to like punk music, and only listen to Green Day. Get some Clash into you.

    I like ties...

I agree with that and have been saying it for the last three years!!
    And now you listin!

Sorry, got a bit carried away there.
More to the point, Green Day are good. I don't really know what to think about how they themselves have changed cos, well, I'm not bothered to lose sleep over it. I like AI. Maybe not as good as their other albums. But I still like it.

    Right lads.
Take your minds of Greenday for a while and take a listen to these bands (all Irish). I'm sure there's something here to cater to some of your tastes.

Being a 23 year old punk fan, ive watched greenday over the last 15 years or so, ****, i member when kerplunk came out.As a band, they rock, pure and simple, especially live.As fer people sayin theyve sold out, thats not the case.theyve changed with the times which is what bands need to do to survive. As soon as a band does well, theyre sellouts.
Its the same old thing wit the mighty mighty tallica, the mighty bosstones, rancid, system etc etc.Oh my god, their on MTV, they made money, their sellouts...its stoopid!
if you like a band, watch them, buy their stuff (rip it off :) ) do what ever, if you dont like em, or think their sellouts, dont bitch about it, just dont buy their stuff.....perdy simple!:D

theyve changed with the times which is what bands need to do to survive.

That's the bit that annoy's me, I've nothing against bands doing well, but a band changing specifically to do well gets me. The core reason for any band starting out should be to have fun and play their music, not make money and be famous, they're just bonuses some bands get lucky on.
