I got a 6230i Today and when I tried to send a txt just now It told me texting was not allowed. I cant find any options to allow it and also When I went to register my call credit it told me the IMEI number was invalid. I suppose that is only a matter of getting onto vodafone. But what about the texting?

    Thanks

SMS Service number is okay..I bought it in an authorised vodafone store in Co. Tipperary.

All Vodafone prepay handsets have to registered by the retail agent onto the VF internal sytsems before there are sold - if they aren't you won't be able to register. Sounds like you have potentially 2 problems
    1. Need to call VF and get them to see if they can sort out your registration problem and tell them you can't send text - should be easily sorted.
    2. You may have bought a turkey

I got the phone registered over the phone with vodafone. But to fix the texting problem I have to get my SIM replaced because my current one is not compatible with my new phone. All should be fine when I get my simcard replaced

Yep, Your SIM is SIMply(:p) too old to be fully compatible with the 6230i.
