What's your choice? At the moment I'm veering towards an N*E*R*D song that contains the line "her ass is a spaceship that I want to ride". Wordsworth eat your heart out.

    Sultans of Ping FC:

    My, brother, knows, Karl Marx,
He met him eating mushrooms in the peoples park,
He said 'What do you think about my manifesto?'
'I like a manifesto, put it to the test-o.'

I have edited it as much as I can, but I think all the lyrics in this song are excellent:
Black Crowes - She Talks to Angels

She never mentions the word addiction
    In certain company
Yes, she’ll tell you she’s an orphan
    After you meet her family

She paints her eyes as black as night, now
    Pulls those shades down tight
Yeah, she gives a smile when the pain comes,
The pain’s gonna make everything alright

    Chorus -
    Says she talks to angels,
They call her out by her name
    She talks to angels,
Says they call her out by her name

She keeps a lock of hair in her pocket
She wears a cross around her neck
Yes, the hair is from a little boy
And the cross is someone she has not met, not yet

    Chorus-

    She don’t know no lover,
    None that I ever seen
Yes, to her that ain’t nothing
    But to me, yeah me,
    It’s everything

    Chorus

And I can feel one of my turns coming on.
I feel cold as razor blade
    Tight as a tourniquet
    Dry as a funeral drum,
Run to the bedroom, in the suitcase on the left
    You'll find my favourite axe
    Don't look so frightened
This is just a passing phase
Just one of my bad days

from Pink Floyd - One of my Turns

Day after day, love turns grey
Like the skin of a dying man
Night after night, we pretend it's all right
But I have grown older and
    You have grown colder and
Nothing is very much fun any more.

And I can feel one of my turns coming on.
I feel cold as razor blade
    Tight as a tourniquet
    Dry as a funeral drum,
Run to the bedroom, in the suitcase on the left
    You'll find my favourite axe
    Don't look so frightened
This is just a passing phase
Just one of my bad days
Would you like to watch T. V.?
    Or get between the sheets?
    Or contemplate the silent freeway?
Would you like something to eat?
Would you like to learn to fly?
Would you like to see me try?
Would you like call the cops?
Do you think it's time I stopped?
    Why are you running away?

I think it's "I can't get no girl with action" but that sounds much better in fairness! :D

    Pink Floyd - Time

Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in a quiet desperation is the English way
The time is gone, the song is over, thought I'd something more to say

Maria McKee - If Love is a red dress (hang me in rags)

The whole song but the title is a great line and

"If love is shelter, I wanna walk in the rain"

Not that its my credo or anything, I just get serious goosepimples anytime I listen to that song. Amazing song, and most of you will know it from Pulp Fiction

These two from our own island I think are pretty special.

    U2 -
"Slide of hand and twist of faith
on a bed of nails she makes me wait"

    Aslan -
"This is the face of a teenage mother
this is the child she bears
this is the soul of her broken lover
searching for the smiles they shared."

Also one of my favorites but I would have had to quote most of the song.

Lyrics of "Strange Fruit" always grabbed me.
    Contrasts are just so extreme:

"Scent of magnolias, sweet and fresh,
Then the sudden smell of burning flesh."

    Dear Daddy,
I write you in spite of years of silence.
    You've cleaned up, found Jesus,
things are good or so I hear.
    This bottle of Steven's
    awakens ancient feelings.
Like father, stepfather, the son is drowning in the flood.

    got to be this,

Say it ain't so - Weezer

    Pink Floyd - Time (again)

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you.
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun.

"Roll me in designer sheets, I never get enough........." - Blondie "CALL ME" - I just love that line (well at least that's the line I've been singing for years, so hope I haven't misheard it). There's an old song by Queen on the "Night at the Opera" album called "The Prophet's Song" - the lyrics are wonderful, you feel you're really listening to a story being told! (OK giving my age away a bit here). J

    Damien Rice - Older Chests

"Everybody needs the help, of someone else, to mend that shelf of too many books... read me your favourite line"

    Nice work Damo... :|

I would say lateralis/lateralus by tool.

With my feet upon the ground
I lose myself between the sounds
And open wide to suck it in
I feel it move across my skin
I'm reaching up and reaching out
I'm reaching for the random, for
    Whatever will bewilder me
    Whatever will bewilder me
And following our will and wind
We may just go where no one's been
We'll ride the spiral to the end
May just go where no one's been

It has no effect typed here but the way Maynard sings it after 9 minutes of music is awesome. It still makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up.

No Doubt - Oi To The World(Vandals cover but this version is better)

    Trevor broke alota bones,
But Hagi had a sword like the guy,
    in Indiana Jones...

    Christmas Carols at their best!!
