yeah affection is brilliant!im with the only girl ive ever truly loved and it took me nine months to realise it!ive no qualms with being affectionate in public.

like i kissed her during a chemistry lecture because she had to go aand that was in front of about 500 people!

I have to agree with PigHead on this one, I have no time for Public Displays of Affection. I feel its uncalled for, and generally tends to make other people feel uncomfortable.
I have been going out with my boyfriend for 3 years, and from the very begining I made clear my stance on PDA's.
I had spent far too many nights in the company of rude and ignorant couples, who didn't give a thought for those around them and how they behaviour might be making them feel. I was not going to inflict those experiences on others.

Down with PDA's, there is a time and a place.

Has the good sir Pighead learned nothing from PI? He ought to be happy when he is with a girl who is so willing to be affectionate to him tbh.

oh my god i hate it!!!!!the worst is couples going shopping together in town.they are all over each other !!!stopping in front of you so you keep ramming into them i mean whats the point!!!its so frustrating.
i work in town and the amount of people you see standing right in the middle of crowded aisles meeting is unbelieveable!!for gods sake like as if it isnt hard enough to shop at this time of year as it is!!I always walk up to them and say excuse me and pretend i have to fix the shelf behind them......haha:)

    Makes me feel lonely.

And I hate when you happen to pass or look anywhere near where they're doing it, they act like you're violating their privacy. Ugh.

If you're going to do it in public, it's a public display. Therefore, I propose that a group be gathered, perhaps 10 strong, perhaps 20 strong, to trawl the streets of the cities of Ireland, standing around, staring, munching popcorn, whenever they find a couple having it off in public.

I hate it.It is often sickening and in your face.It makes me feel all bitter and annoys me.A lot. These are the reasons why there are rooms with locks and doors on them.Yes.I think you should use them. And stop holding hands. It unnerves me.

Stop holding hands? wtf? If that gets to you, time to book a shrink tbh.

Its pretty simple, people who aren't in a relationship or are in a bad one usually snipe at such couples. Those who display their love for one another, get on with it, those who arent and cant stomach it, get a grip and stop moaning you miserable f*ckers.
(For the record, I'm a single person saying this, and I enjoy it.)

Holding hands, kissing, cuddling in public are perfectly acceptable..
those who decide to take anything other than the above in public should try to avoid deliberately being caught.

Those who disagree, I'd like you to know in advance, I don't give a sh*te.

    :p:D

Every girlfriend Pigheads ever had has always been the type to slobber and drool all over him in public. I fcuking hate this behaviour. Theres a time and a place for everything love, get off me. Imagine if the lads came around the corner and seen Pighead in a lovey dovey clinch. The reputation i've built up over 28 long years would be in tatters.

Whenever I see a couple kissing in the streets for a period of longer than 10 seconds I feel a rage build inside,I also tend to want to vomit. These losers are basically saying "Oh everybody,Look how un-single we are,we're so great" Low self esteem all round.

How do the boardsters feel about smoochy woochies in public?

well in general its ok, i mean a peck every now and thens ok.But if my fella wants to start a tounge war in public i just push him off(time and a place)

But these people who may as well be giving oral sex to each other the way they act in public.

My fella and i and our 2 m8s(another couple) were in the park the other day when my friend proceeded to push his gf up against the wall and devour her 4 about 10 mins, i was like "your 24 not 15 ACT YOUR AGE"

    That **** just annoys me
I mean ok its nice to show affection and all but if ur gonna act like that for all to see make a porno.
At least ull get money out of it.. rather than a jail term

I know lots of lads who are big on public affection. I, on the other hand (a girl by the way) am not so. I've been seeing a guy for the past 3 months. We are really close and eventhough I often long to throw my arms around him in public, I refrain (most of the time :). Anyone being overly affectionate towards me in public makes me feel uncomfortable and self-conscious. Not wanting him to feel that way I keep my hands relatively to myself. Anyways, isn't the most subtle and hidden connection often the strongest? ;)

I was single for a fair amount of time, and yes, slobbering couples p**sed me off big time. Affection is one thing, but with some couples you can't help but feel much of their preformance is for the benefit of onlookers...

Mmm... feel slightly hypocritical posting on this.. but yeah...

PDAs. Don't annoy me unless the people concerned are socialising with me... then it does.

Whoever said about the large group of people and the popcorn... priceless!:D

i like public displays of affection, i think theyre sweet and dont see the problem at all! kissing cuddling holding hands, its just nice to see people care about eachother-makes me a lot more uncomfortable to see people argue in front of me than to give a little kiss!
public displays of lust are a different story though, theres a time and a place.

whitewashman suggests that while his own displays of affection in public are his business, that getting annoyed over others is simply a stupid waste of his time.

if pighead reads 'Oh everybody,Look how un-single we are,we're so great' into some people kissing, then it might be suggested that some people that pighead has some intimacy issues...

personally i neither worry about what others are doing, and may they be happy doing whatever it is they are doing, nor worry about people who get upset over what i do.

being dependent on the opinions of strangers to make yourself feel good is pointless.

First up let me say how shocked Pighead is to learn that WhiteWashMan engages in Public Displays of Affection. Just when you think you've got the world sussed out something shocking like this happens. I'd always imagined WhiteWashMan to be a highly sophisticated Terminator like creature sent down by the leaders of boards.ie to crush and bitchslap any posters who commit the heinous crime of stupidity.
To think of him as a regular joe who whispers sweet nothings into his schnukky wukkys ear is quite hard to comprehend. NOTHING IS SACRED.

However Pighead does agree that he shouldnt be building up rages over such trivial matters. The presents have yet to be bought, i've got fcuk all holidays over Christmas and I couldnt find my hat and scarf this morning. Its still wrong though.

I'm agreeing with this 100%. I can't stand it either. Was in the pub the other day and there was this couple basically ridin each other beside me. Keep it for the bedroom folks!

Any chance this pighead bloke could be banned? The way he talks in 3rd person does my f**king head in.

Any chance this fischerspooner character can be sent to prison the way he strays off topics in threads is extremely annoying. And his language is quite appalling.
Pighead is going to throw out an old chinese proverb that will hopefully show fishyspoonface the error of his ways.
"Revenge is an act of passion; vengeance of justice. Injuries are revenged; crimes are avenged."

In general it seems that lads are a lot more uncomfortable than girls with this type of public affection. When a girls friends see her being lovey dovey with her fella they think its cute and fluffy and all things nice. When a fellas buddies see him canoodling and being soppy they tend to laugh point and ridicule and call him a big jessy.

Girls think before you cuddle. The streets are for fighting not for loving.

    Lol!
    True mate ;)

    you are obviously very irish
the french/italians/spanish have no problem with public displays, why do you?
cos your friends might see? I thought you were a grown up? :/

why this should bother anyone is beyond, I tend to think, 'ain't love grand' when I see this, (I'm not counting people who shoud get a room cos they've gone one step further than they probably should...)

You thought Pighead was a grown up? C'mon Beruthial have yopu read any of my crappy juvenile threads, Pigheads a moron!

Anyway yes I am very Irish and just because the french/italians/spanish do it it doesnt mean they're right. I know a french/italian/spanish bloke who shaves off his testicle hairs and has them in sandwiches with english mustard. Does that mean we should follow suit. No way Jose.

If you were my lady B(e)rut(i)al you'd soon have a swift change of heart about Public Displays of Affection. I'd have my hand up your wooly jumper faster than you could say "Get away from me Pighead you brute, somebody might see"
As somebody once said "Everything in its Right Place"

i don't see a problem with PDA's to be honest. with various ex-'s i've found they're great for keeping warm at a cold bus stop if you're doing the PDA.
