Sky Dish - Use for FTA?

Sorry if these have been asked before.

I have a FTA receiver and have signed up for Sky+.

When the engineer installs the Sky dish, can I use the spare LNB (will there be a spare LNB) to run a cable to my FTA Receiver? If not what can I do?

Also, do I need to have my telephone line connected to the sky+ box? Why?
Will the Sky+ box work without being connected to the line?

If you are getting Sky+ you will have an LNB with 4 connectors, 2 of which are needed for Sky+. One of the others can be used to connect to your FTA box.

unless you bought the Sky box yourself it will need to be connected to the phone line. it is a condition Sky have put in the terms and conditions. it will work without it being connected to the phone line but Sky may not like that

On the ordinary Sky box free installs you can pay extra (once) to have no phone and after 12months no phone.

It is less clear about Sky+

If you have a 2nd box and a mirror sub for Sky+ and ordinary Digibox (or 2nd Sky+) then you do need the phone connected on both (the same line).
