window handles - with a key

apparently, escape windows cannot have a key=locking mechanisim button, it must be easily opened incase of a fire.....
but doesnt this pose a security threat?

Our eng wont sign off on the house because of this.....

Does any one know where we could get new handles for escape windows.

    Spec
Windows are woodgrain uPVC with brass handles
Handle has a 8 maybe 10mm square shaft about 50mm long inside,

I need to have a plain button with no keyhole.....

    Help appreciated....

    East Connaught/ Midlands Area

If they are upstairs windows, its not particularly a problem.

Contact manufacturers of windows maybe or the installers?

I just got new windows installed and (without measuring them) they seem to match what you are saying

I'd go back to the manufacturer as they will have to sell the new handles now and thats your best bet to get matching systems.
The senator ones I got are pretty much the exact same, just a button instead of a lock.
