Where can you buy lard in Dublin???

Lard has completely disappeared from the supermarket shelves - I was able to buy some before Christmas last year but this year nowhere seems to be stocking it. I know it's not the healthiest food in the world but combined with butter I think it makes the best pastry and at least you know what it's made from - unlike margarine and the pure hydrogenated vegetable oil that is white "cooking fat".

Does anyone know of anywhere that still sells lard in Dublin???

Apparently there is a Europewide shortage of Lard.
I am serious, after the accession states joined they bought up all the lard.

Try a butchers or maybe an older style supermarket/market stall

Yeah the butchers should have the best. Last I got it was in tescos, that was about 2 years back though.

You could always render your own?

I do this for one bread that I make and render the lard/fat from pork meat.

Buckleys on Moore St should have it they ahave everything else that seems to have disappeared.
