Do you expect people to look like their avatars?

Are you ever suprised when you meet a boardsie IRL that they don't actually look like catwoman? Or that their skin ISN'T bright orange?

I always expect posters to look somewhat like their avatars. If their avatar is a person I'll expect them to look similar to it, if it's an inanimate object, I expect them to have the same colouring as it.

Apparently I look like my avatar (I would hope that's because I was smiling a lot at the time and not because I am blue, although I was wearing a lot of turquioise at the time the poster who mentioned this saw me :v:)

So what about you? Do you do a double take when you meet a poster and say "you look nothnig like your avatar at all!"

I'm not sure if you're expectation is based more on association, or being just plain daft. Probably both.

Some people were dissapointed when I didn't look like a smurf actually.
But, yes I do. When you've never seen them before, you form a picture of them in your head based on what you associated them with, i.e. avatar, sig or even name.
