    Might even mean that more pubs would wait for the pint to settle before finishing pulling it. (Fat chance!)

    Surely this is a terrible way of encouraging people to drink to much - what if you don't want another drink? ;)

    that would be brilliant but quite a bit off yet i think for the regular irish country pubs

    Certain areas would still have to get out of the whold "quick nod" for a pint thing. (A good country barman will always know what his regulars want.)

    And anyway if everyopne is actually sitting at the bar then why bother with the technology.

    I can see the more expensive and exclusive bars bringing this kind of technology in.Soon as your drink is gone they'll send someone down, "Another round of ridiculously over-priced beer, sir? No? Then please leave" :)

    And there could be a switch on the pint to press if you don't want another drink.
    Although at some stage you wouldn't be able to press the switch anymore.
    So the glass should be equipped with a breathelizer (sorry, not sure of the spelling), and when you really had to much the stool takes you to the cloak room, puts your jacket on and drives you back home;)
