Dont need it cool for overclocking just to be bloody quiet.

Silent (passive) Zalman ZM80 heatpipe based heatsink. Recommended is the optional quiet fan with an 9800XT though

Alternatively an Arctic cooler will be quiet enough as well and will deliver a lot of cooling power so a good overclock (better than with the stock cooler) is still on the cards

I have a VGA Silencer for that card sitting here. Attached to a dead 9800pro. Was meant to sell it to gline in july but I went away on a month long holiday so the deal kind of fell through...

    Interested?

    It's this one : http://www.arctic-cooling.com/vga2.php?idx=41

Doesn't say it's compatible with the 9800 XT though... Could have sworn that it works with the XT. Strange...

The arctic coolers are very good. A lot quieter than stock and cooling is much better

    Was thinking of that one.

I wouldn't recommend having a prolonged session of anything GPU intensive without a fan on that one
