Why do so many people feel to finish their post off with the annoying phrase "just my 2 cent" (or "just my 0.02c" by some arseholes)? Seriously lads, we gathered that what you wrote was your own opinion, no need to state it.

It's from the olden days. When, in public market, someone couldn't just start shouting out about their merchandise and stuff. Anyone who did was fined 2cents. Since the people made more than enough to cover getting fined, they went on and shouted anyway.

So in the end, you had your say and said "that's my 2 cents", cause you had your bit to say, and threw the money at the guys who fined people.

I never use this expression but it doesn't annoy me. At least it shows that the poster is giving an opinion and that they realise they could be talking crap.

It's better than people who don't know what they're talking about making statements of fact or stating their opinions as facts.
