Calculating Cubic Meters

    How would man calculate cubic meters?? Blonde question possibly!!! :p

    For example room that is 15ft * 14ft which needs 4" of screed?

    Jeez, can't people do basic maths any more? I assume you know that 1" = 2.54cm or 0.0254m.

    Sooooo ...

    15' = 15*12*0.0254m = 4.572m
    14' = 14*12*0.0254m = 4.267m
    4" = 4*0.0254m = 0.102m

    4.572*4.267*0.102=1.989m^3 (call it 2 :) )

    google is handy for doing conversions aswell, eg to convert 15 feet to metres simply type in 15ft in m to the google search box and it will do the coversion for you. works for a good few conversions

    Alternatively you could have just measured the room in metres in the first place anyway :) I haven't mesaured anything in feet and inches in the last 20 years or so. 4" is about 10cm, so just multiply the two dimensions and divide by 10, easy peasy.
