do i need a good graphics card if i'v loads of ram?

i hav an 8mb graphics card, with ram as cheep as it is i'm thinkin of upgradeing to 256mb (ram)...will that compensate the lack of performance from my graphics card? or should i get a new graphics card aswell???

256 isnt as HUGE an amount of RAM as it would of been 6 months ago. Id get abt a 32meg card aswell for top performance. Loads of games require a card greater than 8 neway

Short answer: you won't see any improvement in games at all.
You might see minimal improvement when dealing with large files, photoshop etc.
I'd spend the money on a geforce mx.
