funny or cool has to be anything written by Tre Cool from Green Day. He's the drummer and hes written one or two songs for them on albums and stuff and a few on the internet. Everything he does is ****ing hilarious . apart from that Bob Dylan is amazing aswell as Cat Stevens. Rancid actually write some good stuff also. I cant narrow it down to actual songs, they're all just so good!

There are few better lyricists than Kurt Wagner from Lambchop.

My Face Your Ass has the lyrics "Well I wonder what would happen if the world was in a wire, and the wire was in a spiral in a burning ring of fire" and then the chorus is "I'll show your punk rock ass". I know it sounds completely daft, but when accompanied by Lambchop's unique music, it creates a beautiful, scary, surreal image (and I mean surreal in the artistic sense).

In "The Old Gold Shoe", he creates an image of a living, breathing record player that represents a better time in the past.

I suppose you have to kind of be into that kind of stuff though.
