    My lil brother. chump junior, just got one of these back from Asia...

    Can anyone tell me (or point me in the direction of) what is so "special" about these bad boys?

    -run homebrew [any home made games + programs]
    -run isos from memory card [psp games]
    -run emulators [snes, nes, sega etc]

    -anything really.

    tell him that whatever he does DO NOT upgrade. as there is at the moment no way of downgrading and it doesn't look as if anything is coming soon.

    yeah. nightmare. i upgraded my us psp kinda by accident. infuriating.

    my philosophy has always been that EVERTHING is crackable but my patience has been stretched to the max with this ****.

    Can people please stop saying it happened by accident?

    You either upgraded or you didn't. How many people have said they "accidentally" selected upgrade, plugged in their PSP, selected it again and then sat idly by while it worked its magic.
