Travelling from the North East to Colaiste Dhulaigh

Folks,

Any stundents travel between the Drogheda area and Colaiste Dhulaigh(Raheny Campus). I'm looking to source what the handiest/cheapest options are available. My girl friend is currently getting the bus from Drogheda into Middle Abbey Street and then getting the 42A/42B back out to the college. Is there an option available that will miss out or shorten the trip through the town and back out again. Also how does the train compare? Any help on this would be much appreciated.

Drogheda->Dublin: 10 journey ticket is €28
42A/42B: €1:50 per journey. Not sure how much the weekly/return option costs.

Assuming the bus goes that way, get off the Drogheda bus at Santry at the large junction before the omni park and get the 17a from Oscar Traynor Road, it goes right past the college.

The train from drogheda would also be an option, change to the DART at Malahide or Howth Junction for Raheny.

train would be much quicker - about an hour station to station if you connect at malahide or howth jn.

Get the train from drogheda to killbarrack ( I think it is Howth Junction Station) 17A stops outside get it and get off at Smurfits walk up the springdale Road

Looks like the train is the better option alright. Cheaper as well, €34 for the weekly and €108 for the monthly. Also allows travel into the city centre. Thanks for the advice....
