Can anybody tell me what's the difference between these two
types of lnbs, and which one should you use to supply up to
4 tv's each with its own digital receiver. Thanks

Take a quad lnb!! a quatro is for an apartment block where its fed into a box that could supply say 16 receivers!!!

    Hope this is of help!!!

Each output of Quad is selectable H/V (18V or 14V) and High or low band (22KHz tone on/off).

A Quattro has no switching, each o/p is one of the four possible combinations, thus it can only be used with a distribution system.

Newer distribution systems can use Quattro or Quad LNBs, because unless it is a flange mount, the Quad may be cheaper.

For more than four receivers you add a distribution system rather than 2 or more Quads.

A quad will do it for you. for 5 to 8 receivers you can use an Octo output

I've never had the pleasure to use an Octo LNB yet, but I wondered would the extra weight of the LNB (I assume it's heavier than a Quad), and 8 coaxial cables not put too much stress on the LNB arm?

The Triax dishes would probalby cope pretty well, but some dishes have relatively weak arms at the best of times!

i've only ever used them on triax or ch master, dont think theres that big a weight difference with the lnb but the extra cabling of course will add more weight.
