Any DJs out there used Finalscratch with turntables?Sounds like a cool idea, being able to play your mp3s on vinyl like normal records. Is this really the case or is it too good to be true?

    (Thread in Instruments section aswell)

a mate of mine uses it.... useful tool, earlier versions had a slight latency problem [not good if you're scratching etc] - these issues have been ironed out in subsequent versions though...

Serato scratch live is another program, doesn't require extra hardware unlike final scratch, and is meant to be a bit less prone to sudden crashes etc - which aer very embarrasing in the middle of a set!

personally i'd only ever use it if i was travelling to play and had loads of unreleased / unfinished stuff to play - which ain't very likely ever to happen.

whatever about downloading 50 cent tunes, the sort of people who make the records i play don't exactly get rich off them, so i never download full quality mp3's of tunes unless the producer or label owner himself gives me the link. there's bugger all money in jungle, and i want the heads i respect wenough to buy their records to be able to keep on making tunes without having to worry about a day job.

Thats what I was worrying about, that it would crash mid set.apparently the way to go is to run it through a mac,it has the cahone-ays to keep up with it.Scratching is one of the main reasons I want to use it,so might have to observe and see how this new version progresses.nice one mate

Jungle is a bit of a niche at the moment really,no doubt it will probably get a bit of a commercial stint in the future.that seems to be the only way they're makin the cash these days.

I'm happiest DJ-ing in my bedroom
