Not really my friend. Just ponder about what I have to say.

    Whats that then?

Take the designation (as we have discussed) "door". In every day life, we know the word as it is associated with it's function.

But imagine the word has no meaning. It is merely a projection of our own perceptions. What if door means something else to someone else? What if we see different colours to the word red?

So, we see different things for the same word? How? When you point at a door and say "door", I know what you mean.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,352 ✭✭✭funky penguin

Perhaps....Or maybe you just hear what you perceive it to mean.

The word door was made by our perceptions, right?

    Indeed.

But our perceptions can betray us, if we find differnt meanings for the same word, correct?

So, if our perceptions can't be trusted.....there is no door. It is just a creation of our consciousness. It does not exist because our perceptions don't exist. The world does not exist. We do not exist.....
