the vicar street gig was more hyped here because it was their first time here and only about 900 people were there (me included despite having leaving cert next day).

this time it's 9000 capacity and it's not as hyped due to that fact.

recently Rivers has been having more fun playing live (eg. he's been moving around more he just doesn't stand like a poker) i won't say anymore as they'll probably show us on wednesday night.

Can't wait. I went to see them in vicar st. One of the best gigs I've ever seen. Excellent.

My current favorite is 'We are all on Drugs', but my all time favorite is 'Say it ain't so.' D'you ever hear the deftones cover that? Mmm, finger lickin' good.

From reading this thread i picked up a weezer album that my brother got that i had never listened to and now i'm pretty gobsmacked!

They sound like a way better version of kerbdog and even though I've only listened to the album once through i fell for it instantly

and strangely enough i kinda resemble one of the guitar players......

I dont think you could call Weezer a "better" Kerbdog. Theyre different bands. Weezer are more pop punk while Kerbdog would be closer to just plain rock. Id say both bands take a lot of influence from Husker Du though which is probably what you are hearing.

Can't wait for the gig tomorrow night. I read a few reports from the gig in London last night and apparently it was awesome. Rivers was supposed to have been in great form.

Yeh i know they are obviously two different bands but i still kind of pick some sort of kerbdog sound out of them (kind of from the less heavier songs o On the turn)

To me it sounds like Husker Du meets the Pixies with a tad bit of Kerbdog thrown in ;)

    Here's a report from last night's gig

**********SPOILERS****** (I couldn't get the spoiler tags working  )

Really, really good. Beverly Hills was extended even further than previously, with Rivers **** around with a talkbox. I think they tinkered with the structure of Don't Let Go a bit. Rivers said they'd be back, so he's either planning on continuing with the band beyond the end of this year or they'll be back before then. The setlist was something like:

    <spoiler>
    Don't Let Go
    Undone
    Peace
    My Name Is Jonas
    Why Bother?
    El Scorcho
    No One Else
    Perfect Situation
    Fall Together
    Death & Destruction
    Say It Ain't So
    Buddy Holly
    We Are All On Drugs
    Beverly Hills
    Photograph
    Island In The Sun (acoustic)
    Hold Me
    Hash Pipe
    Surfwax America
    <\spoiler>

Brian and Rivers were both wearing sweaters, but Scott was too hardcore, according to Rivers. Someone threw a cardigan on the stage at the end and Rivers tried to make Scott wear it, but failed. Rivers was insane, jumping around. During the end of Undone, he was punching the air between hitting notes. I've never seen him so animated.

Tonight was Weezer at their very best. all the hits, everyone got their own song which kicked ass.

Last night's show was the most amazing gig i have been to in my life - Brixton last month was special, but this was something else!!

Right from when they nstarted off with <spoiler> Don't Let Go <\spoiler>, and Rivers just looked so pumped up and happy to be there. it looked like it was going to be special. Jonas absolutely ROCKED, <spoiler>El Scorcho<\spoiler> (at last!) was everhting i had been waiting for - the most epic singalong ever! I seem to recall everyone going absolutely mental when <spoiler>No One Else hit, Scott sang Fall Togehter really great and Photograph with Rivers drumming was brilliant.<\spoiler>

And <spoiler> Surfwax America <\spoiler> as the last song... i couldn't believe it. I would have sworn it would be Haunt You every day, or maybe Only in Dreams, but it totalyy surprised me and was just absolutely amazing.

Umm I think it was that blue one and it came with another cd with all b-sides and other recordings, i'm kinda hooked to it at this stage..... it's a really solid album you can't say anything bad about any one of the songs ;)

I looks kinda like the small one in some of the pictures in the booklet but that's going to change today......
