    You said it.

These type of posts are not constructive at all towards the future of the board. If your going to make posts like that at least back it up with evidence and make a proper complaint instead of these attacks.

I wouldn't mind a go at modding the poker forum. These days with the amount of traffic it's getting (4 pages of new threads since I logged on 2.5 days ago) it needs at least 2 active mods.

And I share everyone's hatred of bad beat stories/aces cracked/PPP shíte or rigged/what time is teh Fitz open at guyz style posts.

    I wouldn't spare the ban-hammer either.

    if bad-beats aren`t a part of poker,
why not do, like prince did, and change it to some unpronouncable symbol?
what forum will they go into, if not the poker one?

i`m no pro, (don`t pretend to be one either), but some of the responses are really OTT, when people do post them.

i like to read em as much as the "i`m an excellent poker player, look at how i beat this villain/fcuktard" type post.

I know this thread is more or less finished, but here's an interesting quote I found on the 2+2 SSPL/NL forum on posting etiquette. I'm not saying that this board is in any way as advanced as 2+2, but at least it shows that the long-term posters here are not alone in getting annoyed about bad beat stories. And Roryc and Ardent, comments about people getting "big-headed" are unfounded and plain stupid, imo.

    2+2 Quote:
"Well, the first and foremost thing people CAN NOT STAND is "trolling." Luckily, this board doesnt suffer from the same morons / "trolls" as the WPT board, (or any others, I imagine, I dont read most of them...) but we do get a few. A troll is generally one who...
    -Insults helpful advice
-Argues with profanity rather than logic / reason
-Theredpill, I guess, is a good example
-A poster who typically wastes your time with drivel, for no other reason than getting delight in the fact they did waste your time.
    - (posts) A bad beat post

Additional Note: "What is a bad beat?" A bad beat is a familiar expression to anyone who has played poker longer than a day. Simply, it's when an inferior hand draws out on a favored hand, despite not getting proper odds. (i.e. A bad play which gets rewarded) We FROWN on bad beat posts here, mostly because... It's nothing new to us! Unless you have a bad beat hand which involved a tricky decision, in which case we could learn from it, posting a bad beat for bad beats sake is not cool."

Well I have already updated the charter on this. I don't want to come down too hard on newcomers either so we should deal with it responsibly. I'm not that interested in reading bad beat stories but I don't feel as strongly as others do nor have I chosen to react to them in the same way. In any case us mods will be keeping an eye on things, Tom will decide on the need of a sub-forum etc. so lets move on and let this post slip now.

Bad Beat stories, claims that online poker is fixed etc. should be titled accordingly so those that do not wish to read them can be forewarned. The Moderators of this forum will rename any thread that is deemed to be of this nature and not titled accordingly.

Just in case anyone didn't read the updated sticky
