What was the name of that 'popping candy'

I wonder if anyone can refresh my memory here..

I've just been eating an 'exloding' Smarties Bar. And the crackling, exploding effect of the smarties, reminds me of something I used to have as a kid. It came in a bag, and when you sprinkled it on your tongue, it, well, exploded and crackled all over your mouth!

Anyone remember what it was called?

have a packet of pop rocks sitting here beside me. Carbon dioxide is one of the ingredients

. Got it in the Maxol in Ballybrittas Village Laois heading to portlaoise the one on the left hand side. Afraid to try it it might not live up to my memories

Ahhh. years since i seen or tasted this delight for a child. Honestly, if they brought out all the old sweets / bars nowadays they'd make a fortune...
