Does anyone know where I could pick up one cheap?
    (i.e. less than €90 ?)

Just read a review of this compared with Sony's own 1Gb memory stick. Apparently SanDisk wins hands down.

be careful with ebay, some of those guys are sellign at a great price but sting you on postage\insurance costs.

I got one on boards for 130 but I'd say ebay'll be your best bet for the price your looking.

Komplett have them for abou 140 i think.

Your much better off going for Sony!If the ms gets stuck in your psp or anyother piece of electronical equiptment Sony will either refund you the memory stick and the product or will repair it for you for free!

www.shop4memory.com has them but not in that price range for the sony one its €147 and the sandisk is €134, the only thing is they are usually agressive on memeory price and it will probably come down, plus when they send you somehting iyou usually get it within 2 days.

I'm not sure how true this is buti heard/read somewhere that sony actually outsources production of MS's to Sandisk. Thats how come SD got license to produce them under their own brand. If thats true then there shouldn't really be any issues with it getting stuck etc.

I have a 1Gig Sandisk unit and its perfect. Waiting now for the 2Gig version

The MS were co-developed by both sony and sandisk and that is why they are allowed sell them. I think there was a thread on this a few weeks back, basically the sandisk ones out perform the sony brand in every department.

Yep just ordered from him on tuesday, got an email then yesterday saying its packed and ready to be shipped, he has brilliant feedback and it seems it takes around 4 days to get to the uk. Ended up costing me 97 euros thanks to paypals brilliant "cough" foreign exchange rates. What I find funny is ppl seem to like to pay 10 or 20 sterling more on the 1gigs instead of getting it from a buy it now seller. The prices will never go down if these stupid ppl dont cop on. Hopefully teamxecuters mod comes out in the next few months so I can sell the pro duo and hopefully get a 2gb sd/mmc to use instead.

Depends on the type MagicGate is a technology, all MemoryStick's use MagicGate. You will need a MemoryStick Duo to fit the PSP.

    actually 199 euro:)

Sony's Style site has them at €535 so half that is a reasonable expectation of what they'll cost elsewhere.

    Linkage?

It pays to shop around folks! Today I went into town and found three different prices for a 1gb Sandisk memory stick pro duo. Three!

Jessops (bottom of Grafton = €190: avoid like the plague)
Camera shop (top of Grafton = €160: not as bad as the plague, avoid like the flu)
    Argos (Stephen's Green Centre = €150: I know where I'm getting mine)

Good God, you moron. This appears to be your most recent in a string of highly un-informative posts. Please do some fúcking research before posting "accurate" pieces of information like this. Just because your friend's neighbour's dog-walker's daughter's sheepdog told you so doesn't mean it's true.

Searching for a 1gb Memory Stick pro duo? Update!!!

Franky Boy and myself found one (Sandisk) for €139.95 in:

    Camera Exchange
    63 South Great George's Street,
    Dublin 2
    (phone: 4784125)

This is the cheapest I have seen around Dublin, and I recommend you go here to get yours. There's a 12 month guarantee on it too.

Ahh i'm just home from town after buying one with Qz and I feel great!
    That shop is so brilliant.
Don't give your money to some commercialised companies like dixons or sony centre........go to camera exchange and give your money to the smaller companies!

good work qz. I might give them a shout.

Thats about the same price as most online retailers once you add on P&P.

Nice find ... you have me tempted to buy another one now :(

Lol, yeah it works out (very roughly) to be the equivalent of those in online shops, but it has the upper-hand as you don't have to wait for it to be delivered! There already seems to be a lot of interest in this place from you guys so i suggest you make your mind up and get one before they run out!
