Yes but it's a bit of sneaky advertising.
There's a supplment in the Indo and it shows a bloke at the PC WITH monitor and the price for 749.99 and until you see "Base station", you might think the monitor comes with it, but that's an extra 219.99 for the 17" TFT.
So to get the full price for what's in the picture, it's 969.98 Euro.

Is it me or does that seem a bit of a lower spec than the previous offerings which usually had a really nice graphics card plus a few add-ons (top end processor, Huge hard disk, etc)?

Its still a good bargain I'd say just not quite what it used to be.

    Maybe its just me.

    Are you for real????
it is a better spec than previous, and even if it was the exact same as the previous ones.... it has dropped by €250. How is that not as good a bargain as it used to be.

I was thinking the exact same thing. About a year ago, their PC was a beast in relation to the time. This one seems pretty average to be honest.

Headshot, yes your Pc parts would make a better PC then this Aldi one.

    having bought the last Medion the differences are;
    3.2 processor 2mb cache
    1 gig memory
    320 hdd
    on board bluetooth
    on board wireless network card
the whole tv package, analogue/digital tv tuner, scart out
    multi card reader/writer

    the last one was 1100
the great thing about these pcs is the 3 year warranty and if anything goes wrong in the first year you can walk into your local store and get a cash refund

oh, BTW very quiet pc and the keyboard/mouse is not the same as the keyboard/mouse Aldi also sell, much better, best I've ever used
    all in all, highly recommend

Check ALDI's and DELL's sites in Holland Germany and in Dell's case UK, u will find these same PC's are about 250 to 300€ cheaper.
Of course if u want to part with ur hard earned cash, the Irish companies will be delighted to oblige

Yeah but what can you do? Excluding the price differences caused by different vat rates and such they will continue to rape us with rip-off prices because the masses buy from them. Ordering complete pc's from abroad (with the exception of jes.de and a few sites) is fairly tricky and delivery and related charges usually end up reducing the amount you save to maybe €100 instead of €300. Then when you factor in the hassle of trying to get it fixed if anything goes wrong (it's a pain i've been there) saving a few quid at the start can end up either being more trouble than it's worth or costing you in the long run.

I don't like it but that's the way it is at the moment. I thnk that if you want to save money buy the parts from komplett or somewhere like that and put the machine together yourself,. If you want a ready to go machine go to elara or go to the dell OUTLET store.

Also things arent always better in the UK. I got my laptop from LIDL and it was €100 more expensive in the UK and had a year less guarantee at the time. So the germans are screwing the brits too :D equal opportunists

its all relative, compared to vast majority of shops that you can physically walk into these pcs are good value, as regards building your own these pcs these medions are very very well built, as pointed out before anyone who has had the hassle of returning goods abroad etc will know its a majot pain in the kn*b, had previously built all my pcs, but highly impressed by being able to walk into a shop and hook up the pc and everything installed/working perfectly, its great if/when tere's an issue with the company not having the excuse that "oh the burner is fine, it must be your processor", also great having no conflicts, had to bring a pc back to aldi after 3 months before as the fan started going loopy and cash back no hassle, then bought the next medion when it came out, they use pretty good components and my only issue is they don't come with a floppy, this rip off Ireland is jus too easy to crib about the whole time, just get the best deal you can and move on, if you were running any shop believe you me you price at whatever the market can bear, simple as that, these aldi medion pcs are up there and not far from the top
