Upgrading to a 3G phone - can I stay on the same tariff ?

If I upgrade to a 3G phone can I stay on my existing tariff ? I note that only some of the (more expensive) tariffs on vodafone are marked as being "3G" (I'm on some ancient (but cheap) tariff that dates back to the Eircell days and beyond!)

Shouldn't be a problem, I upgraded with no problems and I was and still am on the old Eirtime 250.
