here's an email i just got:

    "Hi

My friend xxxx moved into 2 bed duplex thing in xxxxxx a couple of months ago and since he moved in there were a couple of things. Lights on when he came home. Then thumping and noise from his back room and sometimes it sounded like someone had jumped on his balcony (xxxx from next door comes into his house this way)

Well on Saturday night the TV started turning itself on and off and changing channels. They took the batteries out of the remote control and covered up the infrared thing on the TV and it kept happening. He brought the TV down to power city on Sunday and they said the TV was fine,

Then last night he was there and it started changing again and auto tuning itself and then the DVD player came on and started playing the DVD but from a different chapter than the first.

It all sounds electrical to me but he is terrified, he claims to have seen a banshee when he was young and he said that the room last night went really cold and he started to cry. He has moved out for the time being.

Now he is going to leave his keys with his neighbour from tomorrow so if you are interested we can pop up. xxxxxxxxxxxxxx meters to check if its electrical, how does that sound xxxxxx???

    .............

    Are you in?"

Needless to say I'm on the case but why am i feeling so apprihensive about it ... gotta shake the feeling before i go up tommorrow night.

I'll be taking a few tools of the trade, digital camera, digital camcorder (night vision), sage, crystal etc.

But anyone wanna make any suggestions or comments?

Ah! Damn you! What I'd give to be able to stay in such a home. Oh well. Best of luck. And screw the banishing, get something on tape!

Have had to try really hard to resist just posting "Theyre heeere!" :D

Being serious, tho, bring someone with you, even if its not too bad, youll be twice as spooked if you are on your own.

Good luck. Is your tape digital? It'd be great if you could upload any interesting bits, like a low budget most haunted.

No offence dude but why exactly are you afraid/apprehensive..? Have you ever known anyone who was 'hurt' etc due to spirits/ghosts/whatever..?

Come on get real, I do actually believe there are dangers associated with certain areas of the occult (Im open minded & plan a few personal experiments in the coming months) - but wandering around a mate's appartment probably isnt one of them.

Slightly O.T. but this reminds me - at first I found that TV show 'most haunted' mildly amusing. But now it's getting very irritating. What I mean is these people are 'scared ****less' ALL the time (yes they could be acting/embelishing) and yet by the very nature of their 'work' (which they do every week) they prove that visiting supposedly haunted locations is enitrely safe as they are all fine and unscathed after years of it.

Oh, come on! Never felt a little bit spooked by something? I'd be apprehensive too, TBH...

Eh, yes. While instances of being hit by flying furniture might be rare  the harm can vary from being beset by mild fear to full blown psychological breakdown (in someone who believes themselves possessed).

I cant even watch the ads for the show now, they are so irritating, but hey, the show is created to entertain, they have to up the ante every season and make it exciting. But it has turned into farce, its no more paranormal investigation than scooby doo. They must still be making the viewing figures - I have heard it referred to as the living tv cash cow.

So is Most Haunted entirely fake Katie? I'm not sure tbh, although it seems a little overly dramatised.. anyone here with experience in these matters should be able to tell I guess (not me!).

I think they no longer care about being accurate, just being dramatic, but I no longer watch it so Im not up to date. In the original series Derek used to give info about places in a way I could relate to, but now he seems to get possessed at the drop of a hat in a way that seems bs to me. He also appears to have dropped a few clangers hoax wise, (see badpsychics.com)Yvettes fear was understandable in the early series, but come on, shes a veteran now and shouldnt be wetting herself at every sound.

soma: it wasnt a "mates apartment" i've never met the guy before, he's a friend of a friend, and my apprehension wasnt about me being hurt but about me being able to get accross what i wanted to say and handle the situation. Even though i dont have a fear of public speaking (which is very common) thats the nearest thing i can say to explain why i was worried. I didnt want to come accross as a nut or weirdo, so explaining a situation like i was going into to strangers was difficult.

On Most Haunted: Dont get me wrong i think Derel Acorah is very talented but Katie hit it on the head, they dont care about it any more, It is more entertainment than enlightenment. I dont watch it anymore coz it doesnt inspire me, however living TV is still worth a watch for Colin Fry & Tony Stockwell, who still love doing what they do (i've seen them live and chatted to them). They get a hard time on lots of boards coz they are in the limelight and people think that if they are on tv its only to make money. Does the likes of Beckham get a hard time coz he nmakes money for what he does? I'm far from a football fan but even i know people like him do it coz they love it. If they didnt get paid are people saying he'd never kick a ball again?

Now away from all that and onto last night!

Can i say it was the single most positive and gratifying experience (of that sort) i've ever had. There was me, my friend (Super Skepto!), the owner of the house and his brother ... oh and the spirit!
it would take me forever to go through it all on here, and i am sure its wasnt eventful enough for the hollywood hungry Zillah (no offence), but i will talk a bit about it.

When we arrive, i was shown around the place, then i asked them to leave me there on my own for a bit. I talked to the room i was in expalining why i was there, then using my crystal i walked around to find the areas of energy. I was happy to find that there was a strong but passive feel to the room. Then i asked the guys back in and we talked about what i felt, and opened up to some questions, which i answered as best i could. Then came the time when we asked the energy that was present some questions ... and they (only one but i dont like saying he/she) were very forthcoming.
I count my noteable experiences at 18 as of last night - 16 possitive and 2 negative. Most people are only interested in the negative because they are usually more dramatic but for me the positive ones always leave me feeling great. This was definately the case last night. The more we talk the more the owner understood, and accepted the energy. all for people in the room had physical sensations during the evening, ranging from 2 of us feeling very light-headed at the same time, feelings on pins & needles and warmth on our faces, to everyone feeling almost "high" as the negative energy lifted.

The spirit in the place appears to be almost a guardian for the owner, as he has made changes in his life resently and is not the most positive i've met. By the end of it all he was willing to accept the positive energy (spirit) in his home but wanted to do away with the negative (which he was generating himself). So we burnt some sage and wafted the smoke into all the rooms and splashed some holy water from a local holy well. I brought a Bach Remedy (Aspen) for the owner and suggested another he should take (White Chestnut). I believe that if he makes some small changes to him life he will become a much more positive person and the spirit in his homw will move on once he is settled.

    Now ... Questions? (or critisisms?)

Yikes, please dont let such an off the cuff remark get to ya, especially when it seemed to be meant affectionately ;)

Very interesting post dub6th, come back and let us know how the owner gets on over the next few weeks!

Sorry, I just don't like having my professionalism, or sincerity questioned, especially in relation to the paranormal.

Sorry Zillah I did mean it affectionately, I like to keep things lighthearted. You just strike me as quite a zealous person who love a bit of the "thrill of the chase"

Am waiting to hear from the owner after lunch to see how things are going.

wow!! that is quite interesting. so all in all everything worked out reasonably okay in the end. usually there is always an explanation for spirits to be present and the way that you dealt with this was just how it should be done. we need to regognise the spirits as if they were here in the physical form and deal with them as we would anyone visibal to the human eye. well done dublini6th you should be very pleased with yourself,
    good post-:)

ok here is a picture that was taken at the apartment, only thing i can say it isnt is something on the lense of the camera or any fault in the camera, as i am fanatical about my equipment (no smart comments please!).

I'm not a fan of orbs in general, as most i have seen are taken outdoors in rainy conditions, but this is a lovely example of what i consider a genuine orb. The colours and textured edge are stunning, i've highlighted the orb on the right and shown it in negative.

    Any comments?

It was such a great experience the other night that i really want to get more involved so if anyone wants to invitie me along to anything ... just pm me!

Thanks for the last comment Judi.

If you look carefully at the left-hand side of the picture, there is something there. In front of the slatted window blinds. The CD-looking things are just enlargements. :) My monitor doesn't show it up very well, and well, I'm pretty sceptical about orbs, but yeah, there is some image there.

Looked at this a few days ago and forgot to reply, doh! Very interesting, doesnt seem to be glare off the lens or anything, but such blurring always looks to me like a dust mote very close to the camera. I suppose the only way to counteract that would be to use two cameras simultaneously.

This kind of thing is intruiging but inconclusive regardless of what side of the fence you are on.

    maybe just being a sceptic

i am no way a fan of orbs either, but i have a really long winded theory on them involving moisture in the air and the conductive properties of that moisture ... but i'm not going into it now. What i like about this one is the patterns and colours, lense flare would in my opinion have a smooth edge but this has a nice jagged but consistant edge.

The CDs are just highlights of the orb on the left.

And i agree with KittyKat 100% they are inconclusive no matter what you want them to be.
