I can tell you that domestic ducks (the white/yellow variety) are quite smelly
creatures because of the greasy oil that they produce (which makes them
waterproof). For entertainment purposes ducks are superior to the chicken
as they fall over when you chase them and have funny looking useless little thalidomide style wings. However handling domestic ducks makes your hands smelly and this may not be a good trade-off against the great craic they provide.

This is an interseting article about duck behaviour - The first reported case of homosexual necrophilia in the mallard Anas platyrhynchos

Why do beavers have a flat tail?
Because they get BJ'd by ducks

Plus, duck-based foie gras tastes so much nicer than the goose one...

Has anyone actually got a duck or a chicken as a pet and can comment? I just asked my landlord can I have a pet, he said anything but a dog, can you imagine his face if he walked in and saw a duck.... :D

Right, he has given you permission to get a pet, just not a dog. The question you should be asking yourself now is where can I pick up a cheap rhino.
