German keyboard to Irish layout?

    Hi,
    As far as I can see, a German keyboard is quite similar to Irish/UK, except that the Y and Z keys are reversed - and some extra U, O and A keys :confused: . What would be the best way to get around this kind of layout, to just use it as a standard Irish keyboard?

    Would it be a big pain in the ass, or grand?!

    Or you could pick up an irish keyboard for a fiver.

    Just set your operating system to use an Irish/UK layout and ignore what's printed on the keys.

    If it's a laptop, then you would be stupid to try to swap the keys. Get some transfers/stickers in Easons and re label the keys. Don't forget to change keyboard language and layout in your OS.

    I cant the x and y key one my lappy didnt see the problem with changing the keys, i took them all off the other day to clean them. just be careful

    My brother has a german keyboard, i opened it up and swapped y and z and put it back together. Easy with a normal keyboard, bit harder with a laptop i'd say.
    Be warned thou, opening it and swapping keys could drive you nuts when the contact ruber things keep falling or moving when putting it back together.
