Vodafone Roaming Charges

I'm a Vodafone post pay customer. Anybody notice the following when roaming (as it happened this occured on the Vodafone UK network). This is when your phone diverts to voicemail:

On the bill you get the following:
    12:01 0875XXXXXX 0.487
    12:01 Roaming call received 0.487

It seems that everytime your call diverts to voice mail you are hit with two charges. One for receiving a call and the other for diverting to voicemail. Then of course you have to pay to retrieve it!

Has this always been the case and what's the situation with O2 and meteor post-pay?

yup, its a double charge cuz the foreign network considers it as a recieved call (but only for one minute, regardless of length) AND an outgoing call cuz they have to re-route the call back to Ireland to the voicemail!

    Dunno bout the other operators.

But with the new Vodafone passport thingy, that may all well change...
