Indeed tech support is one of the funnier professions....here's an old joke i heard about Microsoft tech support....

One day, a group of people were up in a helecopter tour of seatle, when a dense fog set it. The pilot couldn't tell where they were, and they were running low on gas. Well, one of the people in the helecopter saw a bunch of people in a building, looking at the helecopter, and he wrote on a large piece of paper, "WHERE ARE WE??". It took the people in the building a few minutes, but they wrote back, "IN A HELECOPTER". The man istantly knew where they were, and told the pilot how to get to the airport. When later asked how he knew where they were, he answered "I knew that only Micosoft Tech Support staff could give such a frank answer that it wouldn't help you any."
