Following on from the Father Ted Legends board...

Oasis or Blur?

Oasis...

... always hated Blur based on songs like 'Country House', 'Parklife' and 'Girls And Boys'. Though they actually got some good tracks later during their time in the biz - 'Coffee And TV', 'Out Of Time' and 'Tender'

Still... nothing Blur ever released came close to matching the songs from 'Definantly Maybe' and 'What's The Story..'

Stick up a poll there with it!

Have the Spice Girls done away with the eternal Atari Jaguar?

Ive always preferred Blurs style of music, but Oasis have had a lot of very memorable tunes

I think it's a poll about their music not their egos.

I went for oasis as they are my favorite band but i like blur as well.

blur definatley. fair enough they did some cack but they also did some really good tunes and they had enough musical ability to write a quite a few different types of music.
oasis on the other hand were a one trick pony and they knew it

Blur! I don't have anything against Oasis (they're funny baxtards), but I think they're kicked into the corner by Blur, they just write great pop songs and their album 13 is a masterpiece

blur simply for song 2 & there's no other way, prefer those two songs over anything from oasis.

I hated Oasis when they first came along, so had to like Blur. But how I'd much rather hear an Oasis song than a Blur one. Song 2 just reminds me of drunk boggers singing "wooOooHoooooOo" and jumping around the place. Or jumping on me! ..Guys you ain't impressing anyone!!

Some might say is one of my favorite songs, Dunno why! :cool:

That's the exact same image I have of that song. Used to drive me mental back in the day. That and Rock DJ have to be the two songs I hate the most.

Whats the story morning glory was one of the best albums ever made imo and regualry scores top 10 in all time album reviews ive read..

I love em both, but it's gotta be Oasis.

Come on, anyone whose B-sides album (The Masterplan) is actually as good if not better than their proper albums deserves serious respect.
Plus they are much better live than Blur, and I saw both at the peak of their success, in The Point in 94 and 95.

It's unfortunate that neither band aged well, although Oasis' fall from grace has been particularly depressing. Ah well. They gave us truly great music for a while there...
