    Hey bearers of wisdom,

Ive just quit college and started working a nine to fivejob, sac-le-bleu. Ive reached that maturity in life (24 years) where i dont want to get into a routine of sitting at home and watching tv, yet i'm sick of sitting in the bars. i got a stomach ulcer in second year from the ucd bar.

anyone want to share how they spend their evenings.

    Something about sandwiches

smash your TV then you will find something new to do out of necessity.

    Learn an instrument,
Gym, yoga classes, or something equally......eh, u know,
    go to eircom league matches.

coz im in colleg in carlow, all there is is TV or pub. but if i want i could go to the college gym or jog or something. maybe take in a film, though thats kinda like watchin TV i suppose, and i think ur too old to take up skateboarding. actually, a friend of mine started rollerblading recently. do u drive, if not, get lessons.

You remind me of...........me. That's not a good thing, do something with your life I suppose I may end up regretting the fact I never did anything worth while but hey that will be my regret and I'll deal with it. I don't think you want to wake up one morning and think "WTF have I just done with my life??" and find the answer to be a depressing "Nothing".

I take it you have a degree.
This is where you have failed my friend!
If you followed my footsteps you would be 24 (the same as me) and in 1st Arts doing a easy yet interesting course :)

However, I am a tiny bit jealous that you are working, presumably have money and are bored. There are load of things I'd do in such circumstance - learn to dance and play guitar, plan my next holiday to China, take art classes, buy a nice bike (either push or motor) and go around the Dublin suburbs in the warm evenings just seeing what I could see / or drive to Dingle for a swim just for the laugh.

Comedy nights are great and making a tit out of your self on open-mic night is great.

Music could be the answer maybe? I only discovered a decent musical taste when I was 17 with House Music first and then got really in Rock as well about a year later. If you head to gigs etc. or somewhere like Whelan's (I know it's a pub but it's not really the main focus!) you're guarnteed to have a great time. :)
