Men and women are different, that's a fact. Their brains work differently to mens.

    There's nothing holding women back nowadays, bar the glaringly obvious fact that they are women.

    I think women can be funny, perhaps just less frequently.

    One of the biggest laughs I ever got was from me mate's girlfriend (tho it was unintentional).

    I walk into the pub and see them arguing. After I've bought my drink and sat down she says "Paul, sort this out for us. Isn't Bigfoot a real animal?"

    I sort of froze up, all confused for a few moments but once I realised she was serious I laughed for the better part of the evening.

    Yeah but Paul, that isn't humour, it's just women being dumb. Also, it's impossible to answer the question, as there are many impressive sasquatch sightings, but little physical evidence. :)

    I thought one of the diamonds was the woman who did the ventriloquism. It started out alright but then became brilliant.


    On average men are funnier but women can be funnier. It's rare enough though.

    awh its prolly cos blokes and girls are on diff wave lenghts, like girls dont, generally burst themselves laughing a people burping the alphabet ect. girls are funny in an intellegent way, the way MOST blokes dont get... therefore cant laugh :rolleyes:

    I think the above poster (MAJD) is the only female poster who ever makes me laugh.
    As a rule, yes guys are just plain funnier. I don't know why maybe its just the way we grow up trying to take the piss out of each other with whoever had the sharper tongue (wit) was the victor.

    I agree, men are funnier. The only women comedians i can ever think of are Victoria Wood and Jo Brand.

    Never really liked Wood, but then again she was before my time. She was a first at talking frankly about 'womens things' and therefore being the first gave her some success.

    After that, there's Jo Brand, who is quite funny as far as women go. I guess cos she takes a stab at herself and her weight etc. She doesnt dwell on getting at men or talking about periods.

    This seems to be the problem for women comdeians - most the time they seem to be just taking what men have been doing for years and firing it back at us. Other than that they talk about periods and stuff - which aint that funny. In fact, women using grosse out humour, is horrible. They are supposed to be the fairer sex. Then again, i dont know if women feel the same about men. Women need to just talk about life in general, instead of saying how hard it is to be a woman. Look at the great male comedians, Billy Connolly, Jack Dee & Lee Evans. They generally talk about life, and more to the point their lives and how mad it makes them or how they are such idiots.

    I might add, although i like Evans, im not fond of slapstick. Falling down is not funny.

    Lee Evans is not good. Slapstick doesnt work for me either.

    I think that some of the best comedians come from Ireland (with the exception of Tommy Tiernan because I hate him). Dara O'Briain, Ed Byrne, Neil Delamare and I suppose Dermot Morgan and Ardal O Hanlon too are all great.

    If I had no cock I guess I'd be pretty pissed off. I wouldn't be laughing anyway, I'd maybe try to get a prosthetick cock attached or something, you'd have to pump it up for an erection and all... or you could just have a permanent horn, but then you'd be knocking into things and it would be awkward. Meeting someone you haven't seen for a while, with a massive horn on, shaking hands. Knocking people's pints off tables in the pub etc.. Wouldn't be the same.

    to say ed byrne is funny and in the same breath say tommy tiernan isnt, well i just dont know what to say.

    ardal o hanlon is a brutal comedian, twas the brilliance of the fr. ted writers who made the ted/dougal duo so fantastic and he is still riding that wave.
