A little further away, on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, but I actually appeared in front of this within the last couple of weeks and was seen.

If you go to the live video link on the Bourbocam, it is running and you can even hear the music in the bar that it is in. Bourbon Street is a happening place, as I can testify. Well worth a visit!

Check out their live video stream aswell, really impressive stuff.
Although for some reason the quality is all crappy for the video feed, I remember it having a far higher bit-rate.

Well actually Donkey, as I said above, I was in front of the one in New Orleans recently. I was with a group of Net friends and we even did a Can Can Chorus Line in front of it for a moment to be seen.

Not only that, but almost 6 years ago now, another group of net friends, of which I was one, stood in front of the one that looks over O'Connell Bridge and waved at it for a few moments. Because these cameras only refresh periodically you have stand in front of them for a period to ensure you are seen. You get a few strange looks, although at least you are not alone.

hehe, just looked for the Pearse St/Erne one and it is almost pointing vertically to the ground (obviously kids hitting it with a ball or whatever). Typical.

Ah you'd be alright with that, passers-by would just think you were all pissed and having a laugh.
I mean the whole boards.ie sign thing though, you'd look more out of place and it'd have to be a fairly large sign to be noticable aswell

Mardi Gras would be packed so getting a place to stay there would be difficult. There are other festivals during the year and even outside of them, like when I was there, it is a very lively place. There is music happening all over the city. You go into a café or restaurant and there could be someone playing there. The bars have plenty of live music too. Then there are the guys playing on the street. Bourbon Street is a bit like Temple Bar, but with a lot more mature behaviour, so it is far better.

I think Solitaryman666 probably meant "how did you find it" as in where did he actually get the link (eg google, a webcam list website etc)

The camera is on the overturned truck on the M50 -Lucan roundabout this morning.
