What silly little things that your (ex)partner did drove you nuts? I'm not talking about major character flaws, just the little ones that privately drove you to distraction?

    For me:

    Not wearing matching underwear.
Assuming that anyone she got on okay with was her new best friend.
Never pushing back in the fold on milk cartons.
Being useless at choosing birthday/christmas presents despite asking my mates for help!

This is a combination of various exes of mine:

Being a Star Trek fanatic (though that would be a major character flaw I guess)
Doing this really annoying sniff thing - basically inhaling snot
    Making weird expressions while kissing
Always responding to the question "How are you?" with "Sh1te"
Being rude to his parents in front of me (I know that sounds pedantic, but I mean this guy was seriously rude to them, especially his mother)
Sending texts with less than three words in them
Insisting on paying for absolutely everything, including my Dart tickets
Using excess emoticons in texts - I mean after every ****ing sentence
Trying to persuade me to wear my hair up. I mean, it's my hair, **** off!
Always having his arm around me. I mean even when we were walking down the street, he'd be there clinging onto me. Rrrrrgghh.
Saying nasty things about certain friends of mine. I mean if you don't like them, whatever it doesn't bother me that much, but to bring it up all the ****ing time...
Not liking me talking to other guys. What's the deal with that?
Crying. Oh god I hate it when guys cry.
Wearing the same outfit every time I saw him. Yes, the same hoodie and jeans. Ewwww.
    Talking about cars
    Talking about ex girlfriends

I'm sure there are a lot more that I just can't think of

In my current relationship I have no real pet peeves, I had plenty about my ex's, but I spose that makes them ex-pet peeves, doesnt it?

It was actually a combination! Composed mainly of three exes, but other ones have a couple in there too.
    gimmick wrote:

Yeah, but to suggest all the bloody time? This guy was always trying to change me and it really annoyed me. He'd make suggestions about what clothes I should buy, make suggestions as to how I should wear my hair, make suggestions about what I should do in college, he even suggested that I should become a Catholic... None of the things he suggested would have suited me at all because they're just not ME, so I resisted all of those things. I don't know why, but it was the hair thing that annoyed me the most.
    gimmick wrote:

Yeah, but this guy always seemed to be wearing them... Maybe he only wore them at weekends because that's when I saw him, but really, shouldn't there be some variety?
    Demeant0r wrote:

Oh I know, I fully appreciate that... I don't mind guys crying occassionally when there's actually a reason for it. But when they do it all the time it's kinda undignified or something... This guy cried, especially after I broke up with him, and it was really awkward. I mean he would ring me up and cry and ask why I wouldn't take him back - what did he think I was going to do, get back with him because I felt sorry for him?

a few of my exs in here:
1)the way they all tell you that they love you. i thought blokes didnt like saying that and i really wish they wouldnt.
    2) the way he used to flirt my mates when i wouldnt talk to him.
    3) the way he asked for my ex best friends number.
    4) the way he got all pissed off if his team didnt win. Christ like its only a freakin game.
5)the way he kept bringing up subjects he knew i didnt want to talk about but insisting it would "help".
    6) demanding reasons when theyre dumped.

Oh my god, possibly two of the most annoying things in the world! Because if they say "I love you" you can't really abruptly change the subject, but at the same time you can't really say "I love you" back if you don't actually mean it. Plain awkward.
Also, what's with the demanding reasons thing? I mean chances are they won't want to hear the answer - it could be anything from "I think you're a loser" to "I'm sleeping with your best friend". Generally Id rather not know why if I've been dumped.

One of my exs thought i was australian. Now that was quite funny :-p but also kinda annoying.

hrrrmmmm but to be honest i can't think of annoying things about my current guy. We have our fights and i do things that annoy him and visa versa but on the whole there's nothing that drives me to start wanting to kill him.

Being a star trek fanatic isn't the worse thing in the world - i happen to like watching it ( apart from DSN series). Ok being rude to parents isn't very nice esp in front on you but not everyone is the same with their parents. My brother used to scream blue murder at my mum and push her back cos she'd be yelling at him and I used to stand there and think 'Oh god he's such an asshole for shouting at her'. but than sometimes when she goes on at me I scream at her too and i'm sure he's thinking i'm a **** for yelling at her. I know some people whose parents just always go on at them. And eventually after so many years they just kinda snap occasionally. Doesn't mean they don't love their parents. Just that maybe they need their space - i.e are teenager :-p

Ok the i love u thing - i loved it when that was said to me. What's wrong with being loved? Ok if they say it on the first date than yeah maybe its a bit forward but if its meant that its sweet even if ya don't mean it back. I felt awful when a guy cared for me and i didn't. It almost broke my heart cos i didn't wanna hurt him to the point where i hurt him cos i delayed saying that i didn't feel same way etc.

Hmmmm the changing thing. Well i resist change but than again at same time i'm extremely fickle. I always start new things and than become bored and stop. So people can try change me but chances are i'll just change again. Im always being told by everyone i should grow my hair long but i have it quite short atm and most people think that's suits me - but cutting it short was my choice. I never grew it long cos my hair can't be grown long - its very fine.
But people should compromise in a relationship - like if my mate tells me that i should wear more blue cause it suits me i'm not gonna get upset at her for tryin to change me so why get upset at boyfriend if he says ur hair looks nice up or that u shud wear green for example.

Jezza - ur ex sounds quite horrible - flirting with ur mates sounds quite creepy to be honest.

Hmm the crying thing. I tend to hate anyone crying mainly cause i don't know what to say. But if its an ex crying that i'd just feel compasion and pity. Especially if i had caused the crying. I'm still feeling guilty for ending past things and if those guys started crying i'd prob start too cos i'd feel that bad for causing them that amount of pain. Its not nice to be at the end of a relationship so guys can cry than just as girls can cry. Its just a way of expressing emotion. I'd be worried if the guy didn't cry. It would mean that the relationship didn't mean alot to him.

Can't think of anything else to say in this post really.

    A couple of mine..

phoning me for a "chat" an hour after i dropped her home
waking me up in the morning looking for a cuddle..
not understanding that when there's football on i dont give a sh!t about anything else
wondering why i never seemed to have time for her when i was working a 6 day week, and catching up on my sleep on my day off
going for walks with her "dog" (spawn of fcuking satan i swear)
quiet nights in with her family. On a saturday night. watching winning streak
teddy bears. not so bad you might think, until she starts bringing them to my house
wearing her sexiest possible top on a night when i WASNT going out with her..

    and lots more

    So many...

-one fellow (I swear this is true...) actually got angry when he saw me eating a cookie. He said he hated seeing girls eating sweets because they might get fat. I was, and still am, slender. This was the same fellow who suggested that I change my hair colour to blonde because it would be sexy. Not just a suggestion, but mentioning it EVERY time we passed a blonde. Booted him to the curb in record time...

-Showing up unannounced at my work and then getting mad because I couldn't drop everything and chat for hours. I mean, come on, get a feckin' life already...

-Indecisiveness. About everything from where to eat to where to live. A perfect candidate for a dominatreaux (bring on the gimp...).

    - I lasted two dates with a fellow who was a gamer. Now, I love my geeks as much as anyone else, but this guy LIVED for gaming. Talked to his friends as if he WAS the character he made up in the game. Bloody scarey. I ran, not walked, to the nearest exit.

-using the words Dude, Killer, Rad' Man. I just want to hand them a dictionary and a thesarus...

    where to start....

    1. I like Hip Hop, he didnt. His rule was if he was around i wasnt allowed to play any of that "Nig*er" (his words, not mine) crap. If i did, he'd either loose the plot or just leave. Or if i was in the car, nag until i turned it off.

    2. Asking me to give up my best male mate cos he was jealous of our friendship.

    3. Not talking to me because i waved at a bloke i know in a shop.

    4. We were in college together and he's from the same place as I am so I saw him all week and on weekends. I used to spend Friday nights with the girls and he complained about this all the time.

    5. Telling me how to drive when he didnt even hold a provisional.

    6. When I was doing 40 in a 60mph zone, and it was raining and i braked but the car skidded so i steered the car to the side of the road and luckily we were ok but I was very upset and shaken and his first words to me were "your problem is you dont brake on time and you drive to fast"

    7. i told him i couldnt alot of time with him for a week cos i was really busy with college and he said "i cant believe you. your degree is only a piece of paper. its no excuse not to spend time with me" even though his is framed and on the wall in his sitting room
The list goes on but i wont bore yee or pi*s myself off anymore than i am by writing this!! Oh, and i never cheated on him so he had no reason to not trust me

Oh and just to get back on topic... I can't really think of any peevs I have with my girlfriend. 1. Eating my food. Order whatever you like m'dear like but don't touch or ask for anything on my plate unless I offer it to you.

    2. Insisting on holding hands everywhere we walk. Nice sentiment but not very practical on densly populated city streets.

    3. Asking me 'what I'm thinking?' all the time. Believe me luv, you don't wanna know.

    4. Getting peeved at my short shorthand writing style in my SMS's. Lifes too short to write properly spelt essays with a numeric keypad
