any good hotels in amsterdam?

Hi,

Me and my GF are thinking of heading too amsterdam on the 11th till the 13th.
Just wondering is there anyone who has been there already and can anyone recommend a nice/cheapish hotel.I have checked some sites and there are so many too choose from but i wouldnt mind someones personal opinion if they have been too amsterdam recently.I saw the previous thread about amsterdam but staying in a hostel is out of the question.

I stayed at this > http://www.clemenshotel.nl/ < hotel when i was there..
its was small, quiet, and cheap and nice.
It cost us about 90 euro a night (for a three bed bedroom), and was situated about 2 minutes from dam square, and about 10 minutes walk from vondel-park, which was class..

tbh it really depends on what your looking for, if i were going again id go for somewhere with a bit of life in the actual hotel or even just go to a hostel..

that place was/is a safe bet, quiet and "nice".

P.s. i know the lady on the website looks nuts, but i didnt see her the entire time i was there.. there were very pleasent staff working there..

anyway thats what i though of the place fwiw

I have stayed in the Hotel Sint Nicolaas a few times,its nice and clean and cheap.Its about 2 min walk from the central train station.Here is a link.
