Hmmm....it's that time of year again!
Every few months or so i have to renew my smellies for the nights out, i was on Burberry for a while, the chav aftershave, but nice, before that i was on John-Paul Gotiae...nice, but not strong enough, Polo Sport, but to common imo, everyones wearing it it seems, and before that Joop! untill i discoverd girls don't like it!! :D

So it's time for a change, a new scent.......what's your favourite, and what's it's UMMM factor with women? Girls please tell me what you like on men? Men tell the women what you like on them.
I'll put a pole up when there's enough candidates....

Well- I like Paco Rabbane and the other half is mad into Sun Moon and Stars.
Girls always like Chanel No. 5 - it is nice, but a lot of the time reminds me of older people? If that makes sense? No one in particular- just it smells old?

Issey Miyake & Cool WAter are great, bought a bottle of Joop about 3 years ago and have almost all of it left, far to sweet in my opinion.

I totally agree, but I was wankered in a london club one night "Trap" I believe was the name, managed to blag myself into the VIP area, anyway, I was in the toilet and I always avail of the Aftershave in the toilets and tip the guy there cause I tend to be pissed in clubs and I feel generous. So he sprayed some of it on me, and I thought it was nice, a few women commented on it, so in my drunken-ness I ordered a bottle of it. It's all gone now, I used it up fairly quick.

I have a bottle of "Echo" that I got from my sister, smells nice, but I'm working through Emporio atm.

I've got this bottle of Lacoste I got for a bday present from about 5 yrs ago that I really like; it was in a green and white bottle and I could never find it for sale again. Don't know if it's like the new stuff...real citrussy clean smell that lasts for ages.

*waits for some n00b to post "Lynx" :D*

Have any of you ever thought of just not trying to smell like anything and just go scentless? As long as you don't smell bad....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,645 ✭✭✭Shrimp

Ah yeah, I've done that before... like your just out of the shower and all fresh so your not going to smell, but it you'd agree that a scent of a nice after shave is nice. I mean I wouldn't put on aftershave all the time, only sometimes if I'm going out, but just with friends and stuff I wouldn't. I'd wear deodrant though of course. What after shave do you like Hugh?

    Dior - Higher Energy

my now (I guess) ex-bf wore Hugo Boss and mmmmbaby. But personally, as long as its a scent that goes with the guy, not a cheap aftershave and not something that reacts badly to your own chemistry, then I'm good to go. Don't use too much. Don't bathe in it, so to speak. Don't make it overpowering, subtle is good.
In that regard, same goes for women tho. Speaking as someone who has allergic reactions to perfumes, I can't take it when a woman walks by and you smell it for 10 minutes after she's passed. Ugh.

I like armni Emporio Armani, and Hugo boss red.

The only problem is I don't shave and I'm always getting people asking why you were aftershave when you have a beard.

You could always go with the old spice option. Who doesn't want to smell like their grandparents. :)

Carolina Herrera for Men (not 212 - just C. Herrera). Very hard to find (I usually get it abroad) but worth seeking out!
