got up, had to go to the bank because i hadnt to ha'pennies to rub together, Went to work where nothing happened. spent the entire shift reading the same bloody newspaper (even the sports page ffs) with no access to the internet until i got home.

My enquiry is the same as MAJD's. Why the sudden assumption that if she's American, she's dumb, volatile or a raving fundamentalist?

My Valentines day was like any other Monday, except my phone call to the girlfriend involved the words "Happy Valentine's Day", and 200% more "I love you"'s.

Sounds like a **** day MizzKatt. I find it funny that your license can be suspended without any attempt to contact, summon or detain you. In this country, your license can't be suspended without court order (and certainly not for a poxy unpaid speeding fine). I've had a family member fall under the mercy of the crazy world of traffic law enforcement in the US (granted, he did make a severe violation), and for all our complaining, I'd take the Irish system over the US one any day.

I assumed she was dumb, because, She'd Ignored a Driving Ticket, Managed to not have a valid Passport or apparently any legal documents showing where she's from.

I have heard of this sort of thing happening in the US before. A drivers license can be suspended here not just for driving offences but for other offences. One I heard of recently was for an unpaid dog license. A woman didn't pay her dog license, she then also moved house. The state law where I am is that a drivers license can be suspended . A letter was sent to her but it never reached her so she didn't know her license was suspended. She got in a car accident months later and thats when she found out. A license can also be suspended if a person does not pay child support that has been awarded by the courts. Sometimes it can be hard to track down the person so they don't always know.

I got my first US speeding ticket 6 weeks after I got my license, I was doing 85 in a 55 zone. They slapped me with a big fine and took my license for 3 months, it taught me a lesson I haven't forgotten.

The ticket itself is the notice of possible suspension if failue to pay occurs. Since I was unaware I had the ticket, I am assuming it is a clerical error, a data entry typo. Additionally, I never received a notification letter.

That's a really bad system. Suspending someone's licence is pretty serious, it's a shame they don't treat it that way.

Hope you get it sorted, sounds like it's going to be a massive headache though.

Much, thank you. The 15th when I returned to work, my desk had flowers, candies, a card, and a stuffed pink snake. The guys I worked with decided to be my Valentines (my IT dept is mostly men). Today, the 16th, I'm spending in an Active Directory seminar, blissfully uneventful. And your post Valentines?

meh...Dr. Paco says call him when your out of diapers, pass through puberty, and think you can come up with some original material rather than just babblegabbing with material stolen from someone else. About the only thing you have right is that the Maple Leafs suck.

I had the best Vday ever, I have spent ever previous Vday alone saying I didnt care but all along I had wished I had a BF to spend some time with like everyone else.
So for the first time ever I had a date for Vday weekend...it went great too!
I didnt expect a first date to go well, I usually fumble it up somehow but it was great.
He asked me to go out this weekend too, said he'd call during the week...
he hasnt called yet so I hope to hear from him today or tomorrow...getting a little nervous.

Sorry yours sucked, it is just another day really...hope you get your license situation fixed
