Does anybody here use the 38 bus??

The reason i ask is that about a year ago there were bus stops put up in Castlecurragh estate in Mulhuddart. I presumed that they were going to be used by the 38 bus so that it wouldnt have to go down Church road and take a left at the Shanty then go up to the roundabout and take a left as this takes forever in the morning.

Anyway i have emailed Dublin Bus three times over the last year and each time i get a reply saying that the new bus stops will be used within the next few weeks but as yet they are still lying idle.

It's quite possibly because of either

    (a) the Department of Transport hasn't approved their licence yet.
    (b) the lack of expansion in the bus fleet because the Department of Transport refused to allow Dublin bus buy buses.

But the 38 is an existing route, the only change would be the route would go through an estate instead of around it. There would be no need for extra buses.

There are plans to extend the 37 from Carpenterstown to the Blanch Centre. I believe the DoT needs to approve this. The delays for both route changes may be at DoT.
Phone the 38's garage (Phibsborough I think). Those are the route's garage are closer to the action than Head Office and will frequently provide better answers.
