Many of us have over the years have misheard or misunderstood lyrics. So what were they ?

One that comes back to me was
Huey Lewis - The Power of Love - still convinced that "rich like cream" was "pricks like cream"

Hahaaa. A mates g/f (American) used to think that the chorus in Sisqo's The Thong song went like "Let me hear that phoooone, that phon-phon-pho-pho-phoone" :D

It took my mate, me and a copy of the video to correct her...

Not exactly misheard, but a fun alternative when you're drunk...

"And there won't be snow in Africa this Christmas time
The greatest gift they'll get this year is lunch"

Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here"...

Actual line: "Did you exchange a walk on part in a war for a lead role in a play"
Heard: "Did you exchange a walk on part in a war for a negro in a cage"

    One of my brothers mates:

Real Lyrics: "Got my first six string, bought it at the five and dime."

What he thought it was: "Got my first sex dream, bought it at the five and dime."

Until i heard the remake i always thought the band aid song went "We knooow,wo ho,let them now its christmas time". When i heard them clearly saying "feed tha, worlllld" on the new one i was like "wonder why they changed the lyrics?

Theres an ad,i think its for Lenore washing powder, with some country western singer on it. I cant remember the line now,but if you are half listening it sounds like hes saying "work them n1ggers" or something in the line. It must be the southern redneck accent that had me thinkin it

Also i always thought that song went
"Oooh baby do ya know what thats worth
Oooh heaven is a place called love"

I thought it didnt make much sense

Actually I used to think it was "Feed them, Whoa oh oh oh." Still sh*te either way.

Years ago Ian Dempsey and zig and Zag on the radio did a bit every morning where they changed the words of songs around. My fav was fine young canibals "she drives me crazy" which Z&Z sang as "she dries meat gravy"

The best one ever was when my mate asked me if I'd heard the song "It's My English Accent". When I said no he sang it for me and it turned out to be "Sorry, Miss Jackson"

yes - on the one hand this is almost a record breaking BUMP, but hey - a misheard lyric is a misheard lyric...

any of you who happen to have access to Bob Dylans 'Changing of The Guards', can you just fast forward to around 2:05 seconds into it...

it sounds, for all the world, like he sings

"She was torn between Jupiter and Apollo/And Mr Gerry Ryan"

This made sense so it took years before I realised what they really said.

    Really "Our lips are sealed"
    Heard "I love Cecile"

you have to read the subtitles, cause it's definitely a case of misheard lyrics!

Geri Halliwell sang that "Its raining men" song a couple years back. This line made me hungry

My line: A Doner and all sauces, it's the way to go.

Jimi Hendrix, Purple Rain: "Excuse me, while I kiss this guy" / "Excuse me, while I kiss the sky".
That's a quote from either a movie or tv show.
My addled brain cannot remember which right now though.
