Thanks ED. I knew Canis Lupus was wrong.

anyway, you can slow down light you know Canis, and shadows travel faster than light.

I think I have possibly heard of slowing light down but then I really don't read much about this sort of thing. Most of what I do know comes from one or two sources.

    Another interesting fact:

Scientists have noticed that light rays (ot atoms or something like that) coming from distant stars vibrate in such a way that is completely different to our galaxy. Therefore they theorise that our laws of physics might not apply outside of our part of the universe.

According to the da vinci code is called PHI and its a number that shows up lots in nature as the ratio between two points.... like shoulder to elbow and then elbow to hand and so on. Is it real so, I thought it might just be fiction.

Never heard the last bit before, but from the clustering of galaxies and the spectrometer readings of the constituents the rules appear the same.

As for light, the speed of light is not constant. It does change. The quoted "constant" is in a vacuum with no gravitational field. Light travels slower through other mediums, kitchen experiment - take a pint glass of clear water put a straw in it, look through the glass at the miniscuss (top, lip, surface etc) and see the "warp" in the straw, this is defraction, the simplest example of the change in the speed of light. Recently scientists slowed light down to something like 46 meters per second, by shinning a laser through a supercooled substance, can't rem the gas off hand.

Couple of other interesting facts :

    1) all embryos start out female, only a change in hormone production flips the switch to create males, hence why men have vestigial nipples.

    2) thalydamide, the morining sickness pill from the sixtes, is now being used, with great success, as a cure for leporosy.

    3) cats always land on their feet - except when they can't see the ground, blindfold your cat and have hours of fun! :)

    4) Female breasts are comprised of 95% fat 5% gland, so next hear girls / women talking about weight, just mention this, great reactions!! :D

    5) the number 0 was invented by an arab mathamitician

    6) william shatner can't sing
