'Master Harold'... and the boys

Originally banned in his native South Africa, Athol Fugard's semi-autobiographical classic "'Master Harold'... and the boys" is a funny and powerful expose of the impact of Apartheid. The story of a young white man’s coming of age in 1950’s apartheid South Africa, it shows how the political realities of a particular time and place can distort even the closest relationships.

It will be performed in the Helix in DCU and in Draíocht in Blanchardstown at the end of this month/start of next month.

Went on Wednesday. Very good but not brilliant. I felt the actors were a bit aware of the audience.

A great play though.

This play is back again, currently being performed in the Project Arts Centre in Dublin and going from there on a nationwide tour.
